Recommended cooking utensils
Large pan or skillet (for sautéing veggies and cooking the beef)
Sharp knife (for slicing and finely chopping the beef)
Cutting board (for prepping the beef)
Wooden spoon or spatula (for stirring the vegetables and meat)
Tongs (for transferring the beef mixture to the sandwich rolls)
Baking sheet (for toasting hoagie buns)
Spatula or butter knife (for spreading butter on the buns)
Oven mitts (for safely removing the baking sheet from the oven)
Instructions
Start by adding vegetable oil to a large pan over medium-low heat. Add the onion and peppers to the pan and sauté until tender. Once the veggies begin to brown, turn the heat down a bit.
Preheat oven to 400°F (to eventually toast the hoagie buns).
Transfer the sautéed veggies to a dish and add the pre-cooked meat to the pan over medium-high heat. Cook for 4-5 minutes while stirring frequently until it is heated all the way through. Season with salt and garlic pepper.
Now that the oven is pre-heated, split open hoagie buns and spread them with softened butter and place on a baking sheet. Bake for 3-5 minutes until lightly golden and toasted.
Finally, add the onions and peppers back to the pan with the meat. Cover the mixture with the slices of provolone cheese.
Once the cheese is melted, use tongs to transfer mixture to the toasted sandwich rolls.
ENJOY!
