Moroccan Chicken Tagine with Couscous

  • In your crate

    Cooked chicken

    Diced veggies (onions and carrots)

    Sauce Blend

    Dressing

    Couscous

  • Recommended cooking utensils

    Large pan or skillet (for sautéing onions and cooking the chicken and vegetables)

    Wooden spoon or spatula (for stirring the ingredients in the pan)

    Small pot (for cooking the couscous)

    Measuring cups (for measuring water and couscous)

    Lid (for covering the saucepan while cooking the couscous)

    Fork (for fluffing the couscous after it’s cooked)

Instructions

  1. Separate the diced onions and carrots.

  2. Heat oil in a pan. Add diced onions and sautee till golden brown.

  3. Add the sauce blend. Mix well. Add one cup of water per serving. Add diced carrots and cook for 5-7 minutes till carrots are to desired softness. Add water if needed so that carrots can cook. 

  4. Add chicken, mix well and cook for another 2-3 minutes. Add salt to taste.

  5. Add dressing and mix well.

  6. In a pot heat water (for 1 cup couscous take 1.25 cup water). Add a little oil or butter and salt. Then add couscous, cover and let it cook for 3-5 minutes on medium heat till the water is fully absorbed. Fluff it with a fork.

  7. Serve chicken tagine on couscous and enjoy!!
